Synopsis:The film starts with the police being called to the scene of a grotesque murder. At the crime scene they find two bodies, one of them belongs to a wealthy man named Peter Walker. In the house, the police find his wife, Caroline Walker, confused and in shock, and with a knife covered with blood in her hands. The police can't get through to Caroline, and they call for the renowned psychiatrist Mark Ellis. He uses hypnosis to make her regain her memory. Caroline is forced to explore her sub-conciousness, and it reveals her feelings of jealousy, and that she murdered her husband. Her suspicion that Peter had intended to murder her are confirmed through this hypnotic session as well, it seems he thought she had married him for his money. But the story is not at all this simple, Dr. Ellis seems to have gone a bit overboard with obsession for his occupation, and has found interest in experimenting with replacing someone's memory, and in fact wiping out someone's previous existence and remolding that person into someone entirely new - the psychiatrists creation.
