You'd have to be mad not to appreciate the tour de force performance of Nigel Hawthorne in the historical tragicomedy "The Madness of King George." Hawthorne, nominated Tuesday for an Oscar as best actor for reprising the role he played on stage, bursts onto the screen with energy and panache. The large supporting cast includes many excellent actors, but whenever Hawthorne's on screen, it becomes his personal showcase.
