Synopsis:

This movie is about the first woman to become Prime Minister of Israel, Golda Meir. The year is 1948 and the UN have declared Israel a sovereign state, and the British forces are pulling out of the country. Israel is vulnerable, surrounded as it is by hostile Arab countries, and they have no weapons, nor do they have the money needed to buy the weapons required. Golda offers to travel to America to raise money. Ariel, Golda's friend and confidante stays in Israel. Golda has to get her priorities right, the well-being of Israel is more important than her own happiness.
